The 2017 SAG – Screen Actors Guild Awards

The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2016, were presented tonight on 29th January 2017 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The 2017 nominees have honored everything from the buzziest shows to hit television to the most talked about movies over the last few months.

The movies La La Land, Fences, Hidden Figures, Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea are all receiving high praise for the actors’ performances, just to name a select few.

Meanwhile, on the television side of things, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Storyhas garnered a ton of nominations as well as Orange Is the New Black, Westworld, Stranger Things, This Is Us and Black-ish.

During the show, Sophia Bush, Common, Rashida Jones, Alia Shawkat, Steven Yeun, Casey Affleck, Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, Lucas Hedges, Taraji P. Henson, Brie Larson, Janelle Monae, Viggo Mortensen and Octavia Spencer hit the stage to present awards to the lucky winners.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to actress Lily Tomlin and it was presented to her by actress Jane Fonda and singer Dolly Parton.

The star of “Hidden Figures” Taraji P. Henson looked stunning at the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards held tonight at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (January 29) in Los Angeles. The 46-year-old was dressed in a Reem Acra embellished dress and completed the look with Nirav Modi jewelry, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Judith Leiber bag. Taraji’s rousing acceptance speech stunned viewers as she collected an award on behalf of the ensemble for “Hidden Figures”. “This story is of unity,” Taraji said during the speech. “This story is about what happens when we put our differences aside and we come together as a human race. We win. Love wins every time.”
