A few weeks ago, we reported that Hollywood actress and director Angelina Jolie is the muse of Guerlain’s upcoming new women’s fragrance.
Now the official Advert of “Mon Guerlain” perfume, starring Angelin and directed by Terrence Malick is finally out!
With music by Andy Quin, this one-minute advert is exactly what you’d expect of a perfume commercial directed by the man responsible for “Days of Heaven,” “The Thin Red Line” and “The Tree of Life.”
Notes of a woman, balletic movements and cutaways to nature abound; if you include the female voice speaking “Mon Guerlain” at the end, there’s even narration.
Guerlain’s new fragrance has been created for an extraordinary, sincere & authentic woman – Angelina Jolie.
Thierry Wasser, the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned beauty brand’s perfumer, gleaned inspiration from Jolie as a person.
The scent is meant to embody the “notes of a woman” and modern femininity.
This marks Jolie’s first beauty campaign since she starred in ads for Shiseido in 2007, which were only released in Japan. She’s also fronted past fashion campaigns for Louis Vuitton and St. John, among others.
