The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2015, were presented tonight on 30th January 2016 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
During the show, Eddie Redmayne, Julianne Moore, Priyanka Chopra, Eva Longoria, Jacon Tremblay, Brie Larson, Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hit the stage to present awards to the lucky winners. The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to actress and comedian Carol Burnett.
The film “Trumbo” was leading nominations as it was up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Bryan Cranston, and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for Helen Mirren.
The big winner of the night was British actor Idris Elba, who went home with two awards – Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in “Beasts of No Nation” and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie for his work on “Luther”.
