French fashion house Céline presented their new spring/summer 2016 collection at Paris fashion week spring 2016. When asked to describe the collection, creative director Phoebe Philo stated: “It’s about taking her out of urban life and putting her feet on the sand. It’s where I long to be, more and more. I am somebody who is interested in how clothes make us feel,” she said, “and in how we behave in different places. I thought, If you were traveling for a year, what would you need to take with you?” She focused on structured coats and jackets with elongated waist, draped ankle-length dresses, loose trousers, blouses with voluminous sleeves and slip dresses with lingerie inspired lace inserts.
