The 44th American Music Awards was held tonight on November 20th, 2015, at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony celebrated the most popular artists and albums of 2016 and brought some of music’s biggest talents to the red carpet.
Leading the pack this year is Drake with 13 nominations, followed by Rihanna with seven nominations, and Adele and Justin Bieber with five nominations each.
Justin and Rihanna are both up for Artist of the Year. Meanwhile, Drake‘s music was eligible in both the Pop/Rock and Rap/Hip-Hop categories this year.
The show was hosted by American model Gigi Hadid and comedian Jay Pharoah. As for performers, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Fifth Harmony, and The Weeknd are just a few of the big names set to take the stage to perform!

American music star Lady Gaga was an elegant vision in white at the 2016 American Music Awards held at at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (November 20) in Los Angeles. The 30-year-old entertainer took the stage to perform “Million Reasons” on the guitar while going barefoot in the heartfelt performance. Gaga‘s American Horror Story co-star Matt Bomer introduced her performance, saying, “Working with this woman, I’ve gotten to see how passionate she is about the things that truly matter. And this performance is just one more example of how her words and music reflect and capture the most powerful of our emotions.”
American singer Selena Gomez was also at the 2016 American Music Awards held at at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (November 20) in Los Angeles. The 24-year-old beauty stunned dressed in Prada red ball gown while completing the look with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Cartier jewels. Tonight she made her return to the public eye and won the award for Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and the show was her first appearance since going on a break to deal with anxiety and depression stemming from her battle with lupus. In the speech, she asked her fans to show her their hearts. “If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. And if that’s anything whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me. I care about people and thank you so much for this. This is for you,” Selena told her fans.
Ariana Grande was also at the 2016 American Music Awards held at at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (November 20) in Los Angeles. The 23-year-old singer showed off her signature sleek ponytail hairstyle while dressed in vintage lace top and Alexander McQueen white trousers. She hit the stage to receive “Artist of year Award”.
