The music world and celebrities gathered and took the stage in Amsterdam for the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, on 10th November 2013. Looking back in time, this was the first time since 1997, that the MTV EMAs were held in the Netherlands. The nominees were announced live on MTV Netherlands on September 17, 2013. The fans voted for nominated artists from their respective territory since 17th September.
The opening performance was by Miley Cyrus, who performed in silver spandex, singing her song “We Can’t Stop”. Other performances included Robin Thicke who was joined by Aussie singer Iggy Azalea for the performance of his megahit song “Blurred Lines”.

American singer Katy Perry appeared in Zac Posen dress and she was nominated for best female and best pop artist, but only won the award for “Best female act”. Later on, Katy performed her hit song “Unconditionally” in bejeweled bodysuit.
The 20-year-old entertainer Miley Cyrus had the opening performance with her hit “We Can’t Stop” and later on changed into another costume for the performance of “Wrecking Ball” song.
The 20-year-old entertainer Ariana Grande hit the red carpet in Mikael Ddress. She was nominated for the “Artist on the Rise” award.
Music star Rita Ora attended the ceremony in Calvin Klein sleek black dress which showed off her tattoos.
German singer and songwriter Lena Meyer-Landrut.
Dutch singer-songwriter Eva Simons.
Singer Ellie Goulding walked the red carpet in very revealing black lace Dolce&Gabbana dress. She was nominated for the MTV UK / Best UK and Ireland Act category but lost out to boy band One Direction.
TV-host Laura Whitmore walked the red carpet in monochrome peplum mini dress.
Sylvie Van der Vaart was dressed in long black gown with very revealing cleavage.
