American fashion brand Proenza Schouler presented their new fall/winter 2016 collection at New York fashion week fall 2016, held at the Whitney Museum of American Art on Gansevoort Street.
It was all about the art processes for creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez as they delivered a collection full of constructed layers with strong references to art, mostly inspired by 1960-s artists Richard Serra and Robert Smithson.
The designers presented a runway show that was a meditation on control and release. The control was at the top of the body — with laces and knots and tight-fitting tops. The focus was on creating layers; lavish fur coats with patchwork; lace-up knitwear; trousers combined with tailored jacket and coats; ribbed knit dresses.
