Spanish caliente! Spanish fashion house Loewe tapped the most famous Spanish sisters – Penelope and Monica Cruz as the face of their new handbags campaign. The Cruz sisters also collaborated on the designs of this handbags collection in partnership with creative director Stuart Vevers, who will soon leave the Spanish label to take up a new role at the helm of Coach.
The range of these handbags goes from colorful cross-body bags with outside pockets to purses and wallets.
“We wanted to do something special but also practical, and we wanted the design to have an unmistakable Spanish element,” Penelope Cruz told WWD, explaining how easy it is to work with her sister. “We usually like the same things. When we do the design meetings separately, we tend to choose the same materials and colours.”
“We wanted a bag which would be useful for women who need to carry many things and have them all to hand at the same time,” added Monica Cruz.
The Cruz sisters had previously designed handbags collection for Japanese label Samantha Thavasa.
