American fashion designer Michael Kors presented his new fall/winter 2014 collection yesterday at New York fashion week. It was one of the highly anticipated shows of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week and the front row had an all-star guest list including Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas, Blake Lively, Freida Pinto and Rose Byrne. Kors always in one way or another stands out from other designers, and this time it started from the first minute when model icon Carolyn Murphy opened then show. After her came Karen Elson, Frankie Rayder, Liisa Winkler and Jacquetta Wheeler, all major model names which have been working for him over a decade.
The whole collection exuded 1970-s vibe and the focus was on relaxed silhouettes which certainly gave the bohemian vibe. Soft fluid skirts mixed with heavy knit sweaters, blouses that look like something borrowed from boyfriends closet, some tweed pieces and the inevitable python print on chiffon dresses. It was the perfect blend of urban polish with laid-back Northern California ease. The color palette was full of mostly grey shades and tones.
