The 2017 British Academy Film Award nominations have just been announced today.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts will host its 70th Awards ceremony on 12th February 2017 at the Royal Opera House in London, honoring the best British and international contributions to film in 2016.
The movie “La La Land” leads the nominations with eleven nods, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Ryan Gosling, and Best Actress for Emma Stone, Best Director for Damien Chazelle. The movies “Arrival” and Tom Ford‘s dark drama “Nocturnal Animals” are behind with nine nominations each.
Some of the surprises that have yet to make an appearance this award season, include nominations for The Girl on the Train‘s Emily Blunt, and Best British Film nominations for “Fantastic beasts and where to find them” and “American Honey”.
