The tenth day of the 70th edition of the International Film Festival of Cannes started with more photocalls, screenings, premieres for the movies “In The Fade (Aus Dem Nichts)” by Fatih Akin; “L’Amant Double” by François Ozo; “Posoki (Directions)” by Stephan Komandarev; “La Novia del Desierto” by Cecilia Atan & Valeria Pivato.
German actress Diane Kruger stars in Fatih Akin’s German-language courtroom and revenge drama about a deadly neo-Nazi hate crime. This is a thriller inspired by xenophobic murders in Germany by a Neo-Nazi group.
“In The Fade” was picked up U.K. & Eire (Curzon Artificial Eye), Japan (Bitters End), Italy (BIM), Netherlands (Cineart), Spain (Golem), Portugal (Midas), Greece (Rosebud.21), Former Yuguslavia (MCF Megacom), Hungary (Cirko Film), Poland (Gutek Film), Czech/Slovakia (Aerofilms), Bulgaria (Artfest), and Turkey (Fabula).
“L’Amant Double” by François Ozo is a erotic psychological thriller. The story of a young woman who has an affair with her psychiatrist and then his twin brother delivers lots of sex and even more Freudian symbolism in a film that Ozon said borrowed some of the styles of Alfred Hitchcock, Brian De Palma and David Cronenberg.
