French luxury fashion house Christian Dior presented their Cruise 2014 collection during fashion show in Monte Carlo, where in 1956, actress Grace Kelly wore a Dior gown to celebrate her engagement to Prince Rainier of Monaco. Creative director Raf Simons mixed textures and materials to create fitted silhouette in the form of fitted crop tops and strapless dresses. Simons also modified even more the coat dresses which could be seen back in February during the fashion show for Christian Dior Fall/Winter 2013 collection at Paris fashion week. The color palette brought a pop of pink color on models lips and colors on the clothes included lemon yellow, pink, cobalt and red.
Simons stated for WWD: “I thought it’s kind of old and too romantic and too tragic. And suddenly I thought, it’s a challenge to make it modern and edgy and kind of futuristic.”
The front row was full of celebrities who arrived from Cannes to have front row view at this colorful collection.
