Karl Lagerfeld transported everyone to Edinburgh in Scotland, in the same castle Mary Queen of Scots was born in. Of course he did, because nobody has the eye for sensation like Karl does.
Chanel’s annual Métiers d’Art collection, the Pre-Fall 2013 collection focused on the time when Coco Chanel was in Scotland with her lover the Duke of Westminster in the 1920s. The collection is full of tweeds, the knits, the cardigans, Scottish cashmere brand Barrie Knitwear, everything man-styled inspired.
“It’s the idea of Scotland, the mix of Coco Chanel and Mary Stuart — two queens of fashion,” said Lagerfeld.
