American fashion designer Carolina Herrera presented her new fall/winter 2016 collection last night at New York fashion week fall 2016. She found inspiration for this collection in the perception of beauty in multi dimension. Exploring techniques to create textured surfaces both subtle and pronounced, the effect is light and the mood, a refined ease.
A floating embroidered jasmine motif and floral laser cut-outs on prince of wales plaid and color-block double-face suggest femininity to tailored shapes and materials; further expressed by rounded soft shoulders on jackets and blouses. Blending day into night, the softness and fluidity continues, with delicate fluttering fabrics and embroideries, dotted fil coupe jacquard, silk jersey, layered chiffon and organza, all in silhouettes that move with effortless grace. Set in a palette of muted tones, powder, desert sand and mist with rich hues, mulberry, violet and iris; the look, at every angle, is to please the eye.
