The eleventh day of the 67th edition of the International Film Festival of Cannes started with the Awards ceremony. Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan accepted the Palme d’Or award for the movie “Winter Sleep”. During his acceptance speech, Ceylan stated: “I want to dedicate the prize to the young people in Turkey and those who lost their lives during the last year,” and he also dedicated this award to the 00th anniversary of Turkish cinematography. American director Bennett Miller won the Award for Best Director, for his movie “Foxcatcher. American actress Julianne Moore won the Award for Best Actress for her performance in David Cronenberg’s movie “Maps to the Stars”. English actor Timothy Spall won the Award for Best Actor for his performance in the movie “Mr. Turner”, where he portrayed the British painter J.M.W. Turner. Here is the full list of winners:

After the awards ceremony, Quentin Tarantino introduced the 50th anniversary screening of Sergio Leone’s legendary movie “A Fistful of Dollars”.
