The Paris Haute Couture fall 2014 fashion week kicked off last night with the Atelier Versace fashion show. With this collection Donatella Versace celebrated the decade of her designing for Atelier. She focused on fresh allure and sensuality which resulted in long slashed-front dresses which have one leg covered as if a trouser for contemporary attitude. Tailoring is cut away while thin strips of vinyl are embroidered onto a transparent base in order to create graphic shapes. The opulent blue fur coats were inevitable and they included frayed organza patchwork of mink with crystal metal mesh, exclusively created by Swarovski for this collection. There were lots of 1950-s and 1960-s influences but the whole collection can be quite viewed as a retrospective of Donatella`s previous works for Atelier.
