Luxury fashion brand Altuzarra presented their new spring/summer 2016 collection at New York fashion week spring 2016. When asked about the inspiration behind this collection, creative director Joseph Altuzarra stated: “This season began as an exploration of my Basque heritage. I was inspired by the inherent beauty of the materials and crafts of the region, and the ease and humility it exuded.”
The focus was on textured linen dresses and tops, gently wrinkled and creased, undulate softly around the body: the attitude this season is relaxed, effortless and soft, evoking the ease of summer. Ceramic glazes inspire colorful dip-dyed and hand-painted dresses. Mother of pearl buttons exuberantly adorn burlap coats and tops, while embroidered Broderie anglaise dresses recall the unique architecture of Alhambra. For all the handbag lovers, the Ghianda handbag collection was updated in Sfumato leather and crocodile, with the addition of two new styles: the Ghianda Shoulder Bag and Tote.
