The 2017 British Academy Film Awards were held tonight on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts hosted its 70th Awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London, honoring the best British and international contributions to film in 2016.
As we have previously reported, the movie “La La Land” lead the nominations with eleven nods, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Ryan Gosling, and Best Actress for Emma Stone, Best Director for Damien Chazelle. The movies “Arrival” and Tom Ford‘s dark drama “Nocturnal Animals” were behind with nine nominations each.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also hit the red carpet for tonight`s awards ceremony. Kate Middleton and Prince William were all smiles while posing to the photographers.
Dev Patel won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the movie Lion, while American actress Viola Davis won the Best Supporting Actress award for her work in Fences.

Tom Holland took home the EE Rising Star Award; Casey Affleck wn the Best Actor award for Manchester by the Sea and the always lovely Emma Stone won Best Actress for LaL Land.
