The MET Costume Institute Gala 2015: “China: Through The Looking Glass”

The 2015 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala was held tonigh on 4th May 2015 in New York.

This year`s exhibition “China: Through The Looking Glass” gathered the most important people from fashion industry, A-list celebrities and music stars to celebrate the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries.

Silas Chou serves as Honorary Chair. The evening’s co-chairs are Jennifer Lawrence, Gong Li, Marissa Mayer, Wendi Murdoch, and Anna Wintour. Also the theme “China: Through the Looking Glass” became the subject of a documentary directed by Andrew Rossi produced by Condé Nast Entertainment, Vogue and Relativity Studios.

Chinese actress and one of the co-hosts of the night, Gong Li walked the red carpet in Roberto Cavalli deep burgundy velvet gown with lace embroideries on the back and accessorized with tassel earrings.

Once again, music star Rihanna stole the show while attending the “China: Through The Looking Glass” Costume Institute Benefit Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The 27-year-old singer wore yellow embroidered cape from Guo Pei Haute Couture collection and wore little pink dress below. She completed the look with sparkling tiara.
