British fashion brand Temperley London presented their new fall/winter 2014 collection at London fashion week fall 2014. Creative director Alice Temperley visited Italy to find inspiration for this quite bolder collection, she stated: “It all stemmed from a trip to Como and seeing all the beautiful religious robes and garments, I took all the jacquards from that to elevate the collection. I wanted to push things in a new direction with separates, tailoring and suiting to make it more contemporary. I want more daywear and not to be so evening focused right now.” The focus was on very romantic and flattering silhouettes, with the quite surprising hint of glamour. A lot of inspiration derived from Byzantine mosaic patterns, which could be seen on lots of mixing of intricate patterns, textures and colors. There was lots of layering – column dresses combined with wool coats, stylish scarves and woven blankets.
