The Carrie Diaries is an American television teen drama which premiered last night on CW network. It is a prequel to the HBO television series Sex and the City and based on the book of the same name by writer Candace Bushnell.
So here is the plot:
“Carrie Bradshaw is in her senior year of high school in the early 1980s. She asks her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while navigating the worlds of high school and Manhattan.” Basically it aims to tell the backstory of our New York’s favorite fictional sex columnist.
Relatively unknown actress Anna Sophia Robb features in the role of young Carrie. After the first episode I am still not convinced that she is the right choice for the role of young Carrie. The Gossip Girl star stylist Eric Daman styled young Carrie’s wardrobe, so we are expecting to see some bold choices inspired by the 1980s fashion era.
