The Cannes Film Festival returns. The 66th edition of the International Film Festival of Cannes started 15th May and will end on 26th May. The most glamorous meeting of cinema and fashion is here again, when it comes to red carpet glamour only a few events can compete with the iconic Cannes Film Festival.
Palme d’or, Grand Prix, Prix du Jury, Best Actor, Best Actress are only a few awards which will be given to the lucky winners at the end of this Festival. The jury is chaired by American director Steven Spielberg while Kim Novak is the guest of honor. The jury includes French actor Daniel Auteuil, Indian actress Vidya Balan, Japanese film director Naomi Kawase, Taiwanese-American film director Ang Lee, Australian actress Nicole Kidman, Romanian film director Cristian Mungiu, Scottish film director Lynne Ramsay and Austrian-German actor Christoph Waltz.
French actress Audrey Tautou hosted the opening ceremony. This years`s official poster is a tribute to the legendary actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
Baz Luhrmann’s 3D movie The Great Gatsby, one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated films, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, opened the Cannes Film Festival tonight.
