1960s Mod Inspired Makeup Tutorial by Maya Mia ♥

Today we are remembering the golden age of the 1960s when female beauty looks consisted of glam hair and minimalistic yet fresh and bright look of the makeup.

Remember how Sophia Loren, Twiggy, Edie Sedgwick, Jean Shrimpton and Pattie Boyd always looked flawless and even today that vintage retro beauty look is quite trendy and omnipresent because of pop icons such as Lana Del Rey and fashion houses like Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Jean Paul Gaultier who brought 1960s inspired makeup on their runways.

The start of the 1960s were a continuation of the 1950s makeup looks, which consisted of bold lipsticks colors such as pink, red and orange, a flicked upper eye line and matte eye shadows. Later on came the distinctive makeup look made of false eyelashes, distinctive dark eye shadow crease matched with pale lips and pastel colors. So there are many variations of this iconic beauty look but keep in mind that focus was on bold eyes while the rest of the face exuded simplicity.

One of our favorite beauty bloggers Maya Mia gives us a fresh look on 1960s retro makeup with her easy to do makeup tutorial, check out the step by step video tutorial below…
