BAFTA Nominations 2016 Announced!

It is official! The nominations for the 2016 BAFTA Awards have been announced. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts will host its 69th Awards ceremony on 14th February 2016 at the Royal Opera House in London, honouring the best British and international contributions to film in 2015

The movies “Bridge of Spies” and “Carol” lead as each of them has nine nominations, “The Revenant” follows with eight nominations, while blockbuster “Mad Max: Fury Road” has seven nominations. Swedish actress Alicia Vikander repeated her Golden Globes feat of two nominations, one for Best Actress in “The Danish Girl” and another for Best Supporting Actress in “Ex Machina”.

At last year’s awards, the four actors who won in the main categories at the BAFTAs went on to win at the Academy Awards Oscars as well. English actor Eddie Redmayne is aiming for a BAFTA double after being nominated for best actor for “The Danish Girl”, a year after winning for “The Theory of Everything”.
