The 2013 Pirelli calendar was unveiled in Rio de Janeiro on 27th November. The creator of this 40th edition of Pirelli calendar is the famous American photographer Steve Mccurry. The shooting was for two weeks on the streets, in the favelas and other beautiful locations of Rio de Janeiro. Mccurry wanted to capture Brazilian landscape, people and culture. Eleven women were photographed in the calendar: Brazilian actress Sonia Braga, Brazilian models Isabeli Fontana and Adriana Lima, Tunisian model Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Czech model Petra Nemcova, Brazilian singer Marisa Monte, model Elisa Sednaoui, Ethiopian model Liya Kebede, American models Karlie Kloss and Kyleigh Kuhn and model Summer Rayne Oakes.
Adriana Lima posed while she was pregnant. This was the 6th appearance in Pirelli calendar for Isabeli Fontana. She previously appeared in Bruce Weber’s 2003 Pirelli Calendar, in Patrick Demarchelier’s 2005 edition, in Peter Beard’s of 2009, in Karl Lagerfeld’s of 2011 and in Mario Sorrenti’s of 2012.
